County Government Website Design & Development

Client: Jefferson County, Iowa

Details:   In most counties, there isn’t a department of marketing and design to manage their county website and media.  For a website to effectively serve a county for many years, it has to provide users with the info they are looking for quickly but just as importantly, it has to have accurate information that is relevant to the constituents of the county and the individual departments that are housed within a county website.   Jefferson County has 15 departments with unique needs, content, timelines, and challenges.

I went the extra mile to make sure this custom county website gave users multiple paths to the essential info they were seeking while solving the unique challenges of each department. Most county websites are built with boilerplate templates that are cumbersome to evolve and expensive to maintain.  I built this site with an open-source content management system so that it is super flexible, resilient, and easier to maintain into the future as needs and technology evolves.
